City of Neighborhoods
Chicago is a city of neighborhoods. Whether it is the Cubs (North Side) vs. the White Sox (South Side) rivalry or what 'L' line you ride (Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Brown, Pink or Purple) Chicagoans take great pride in their neighborhoods! The following link is an interesting look into the history behind the names of the various parts of the city.

Transportation
Getting around Chicago is easy using public transportation! The following link to the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) will give you maps of the 'L' lines. The 'L' is the elevated, and at times ground level and underground, train system.

For those of you who plan on exploring the city, I recommend buying a 1 day or 3 day unlimited riding pass

And of course, there is always Uber, Lyft and if you want to go old school - taxi cabs.
Our hotel is situated in the Loop (downtown Chicago is also known as 'The Loop'). Many of the 'sights' are within walking distance. Bring comfortable shoes. Millennium Park is less than a mile. The Museum Campus (Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium) are about 2.5 miles away from our hotel.
Aiports
Whether you arrive at O'Hare Airport or come in through Midway, I recommend taking the 'L' into the city. Both airports have direct lines from the airports into the the Loop. Those who arrive at O'Hare can take the Blue Line and exit at the Washington stop. Midway arrivals should catch the Orange Line at the airport and exit at the Washington/Wells stop. Both the Blue Line and Orange Line trains go directly into the airports. Just look for the signs or ask someone how to get to the station.
